This a creative alternative to the cumbersome harmonica racks we are used to seeing, and in my experience, far more effective, as I have yet to find a rack that I find to be completely satisfying.
Gary took the time to answer some of my questions. The scales (blues and major) in this document are displayed in what I feel is the best way to demonstrate them.
The graph image that shows the major and blues scale in the current series on positions in our newsletter come from this document.

Your solos show a lot of speed and accuracy. How have you brought your playing skill to the level where it is today?
I have listened to players of quality such as Big and Little Walter, Sonny Boy Rice Miller and John Lee, Miles Davis, Lester Young, Charlie Parker and have tried to emulate them. I have found over the years that facility and precision are prerequisites in constructing solos, Albiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10453757694967972806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5733433804692574642.post-74646994814864830702011-02-08T14:31:00.000-08:002011-02-08T14:31:07.571-08:00Harping On: Carlos Del Junco
What is your background in harmonica? I was in grade 9 and a friend of mine played guitar and harmonica on a rack. The sound of him bending a note was what got me hooked and I picked one up shortly after that. I think the first harmonica riffs I tried to play were from the first Supertramp record... Can’t remember the name of the song, but it had these long waling notes Albiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10453757694967972806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5733433804692574642.post-37139985255590902802011-01-28T08:20:00.000-08:002011-01-28T08:20:50.870-08:00From Ronnie Shellist: Harmonica To Do ListHarmonica Goals for 2011

You are quite the showman! You have fun introductions to songs, and have gags such as playing the harp while it stick out of your mouth like a cigar. What is it that makes you go that extra mile for the audience?

What is your background in harmonica?
I bought my first one when I was about 9 years old, in the 1950s, from a toy store, and learned the songs on the little piece of paper. After that I always had one with me, and eventually I discovered Blues, Folk Music, cross harp etc. and taught myself. Later I developed a group teaching method, trained myself to read music with Albiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10453757694967972806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5733433804692574642.post-30683176270566969652010-07-13T16:25:00.000-07:002010-07-13T16:25:55.720-07:00Cheryl Arena's YouTube ChannelCheryl's YouTube channel finally has more videos. unsure of when to lay back when playing a solo?
Playing too much and stepping on everyone's toes? Well, even if you are you might not know it. Here are some easy to remember rules you can follow when playing with others:
1.) Never play over the vocals. It's always best to lay back and not play at all in my opinion.
